Kit Design Tutorial for BeginnersHere

Ted Lasso has been a sensation that is currently attracting awards and plaudits like moths to a flame, so it’s perhaps no surprise that it recently received the honour of being the subject of a Kit of the Week (KOTW) stage.

AFC Richmond - the fictional club that the eponymous Lasso coaches - is surely our second favourite London side nicknamed “The Greyhounds”, after the previously thought inimitable Streatham Rovers, and is therefore well-deserving of the concept treatment from the superb designers we’re proud to call members. Indeed, even the legendary Drake Ramberg has since offered up a fantasy creation for Apple TV’s fantasy creation.

The winners of a pair of subsequent installments have been announced, with entries and voting respectively closing on another couple today, but before that came the news it was two in two for TRIDENTE, the victor in the 220th stage of the Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge.

The focus on Italian side Brescia got us salivating over all the entries featuring the iconic white chevron on royal blue - we conjured up images of them being worn by the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Roberto Baggio and, of course, Dario Hübner - but it was actually a change design which came out on top.

It’s Sunday, so the arresting Missile FC designs are about to become subject to the armistice, but the week past delivered the confirmation of the winning design in the 272nd edition of the Crest Redesign Competition Weekly (CRCW).

Aegon, after losing their proverbial belt to Rabbi for a week, is back on top. Their Ararat Yerevan creation souped up the current crest, added to the border a representation of Mount Ararat, and even turned the White Eagles’ famous avian emblem blue, all to hugely aesthetically pleasing effect.

There are wondrous things happening on DF right now but site royalty Rabbi was recently (re)crowned the winner of a stage of the Crest Redesign Competition Weekly (CRCW).

With the focus on the San Marino national team - and indeed the San Marino Football Federation (FSGC) - Rabbi’s design, like so many winning designs recently, finds the sweet spot between modernism and tradition and delivers something those Sammarinese players would be proud to wear on their chests.
