Sometimes our Kit of the Week (KOTW) stages have a little twist, and the 261st was the 11th “Challenge” stage.

How could a little spice be added to a Villarreal Club de Fútbol kit design contest? How could things be mixed up for “El Submarino Amarillo” (The Yellow Submarine)?

The 312th chapter of the Crest Redesign Competition Weekly (CRCW) set up camp in North Africa - Tunisian capital Tunis, to be exact.

Current Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 champions Espérance Sportive de Tunis - truth be told, it’s been a while since they weren’t champions - played the fantasy client role, with the members doing the famous side’s identity justice, as far as this layman can see anyway.

For some, the focus of the 260th Kit of the Week (KOTW) stage may seem particularly vague.

Of course, we have had challenges that have offered increased choice to members - the freedom to select any team from a particular league or tournament, for example - but in this case, “A German Team” was one very specific German team: Borussia Mönchengladbach.

European teams don’t come too much bigger than the Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax, certainly not when it comes to history.

So the responsibility is great when tasked with updating part of the Dutch giants’ identity, as the 311th stage of the Crest Redesign Competition Weekly (CRCW) asked members to do - albeit in a purely fantastic sense.

Sometimes, a stage comes along in our Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge that could only ever provide one winner.

That was the case with the 259th stage, the stage dedicated to Hungary’s Újpest FC.

The 310th edition of the Crest Redesign Competition Weekly (CRCW), centred on Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club - WAC - didn’t suffer a deluge of entries, but it’s interesting how a small number of submissions can provide great variety.

To illustrate this, the respective offerings of Rabbi and OTHYcreative are worth perusal. Both include local or traditional iconography but the execution could hardly be more different.
