The design refers to the heyday of Genoa - the background is a delicate ornament from the Renaissance, in the central point there is the city's coat of arms with a raised shield with the cross of St. George, which is still present on Sampdoria kits. The golden decoration reminds of the 30th anniversary of the only scudetto in the club's history.
