As the spectacular "Croatia" stage of the Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge closes its doors to new entries, and voting for the best 1860 München Oktoberfest shirt is brought to an end too, the last few days delivered the confirmation that member ONI had been voted the winner of the Torquay United edition of our main rolling kit comp.
Torquay are already one of the best dressed teams in non-league football, thanks largely to the understatement of their kits - a clutter-free crest and the date of establishment in gorgeous type in the central sponsor position - and somewhat to the measured use of Kitlocker.com’s “#PowerUp” customisation. This competition still managed to take the Devon side on a journey...
While ONI’s Nike-styled design brought the mid-ground between subtle class and unashamed bling - as with all their uploads, it’s beautifully presented to boot, and deservingly came out on top - other entries really pushed the “English Riviera” status of the coastal town with all shackles clearly thrown off.
As with all chapters of the tome that is KOTW, we highly recommend people take a look through all the Torquay designs. They may not currently qualify for full-on bespoke treatment but dreaming’s the name of the game at DF.
