Home kit for Dalian, another Chinese super league team. The Northeast city of Dalian was home to Dalian Shide, the most successful team in China, with 8 championships. The team however, in the late 2000's, the team was in dire financial straits, and a businessman from a rival firm to Shide wanted to buy the club. He was rejected, so he founded a rival club, Aerbin, which made the top tier of Chinese league football, and a takeover bid for Shide, and the two clubs were merged. This kit uses the Light blue that Shide wore, as well a crest based on the Eagle one of Aerbin, with the logo of Aerbin replaced with the Script for Dalian, and Dalian FC in the scroll. The shirt has a South Asian influenced collar, shadow stripes and a pocket on the shirt. Please click on the zoom button to see in full detail. Comments would be cool
This is a rebrand, and the light blue and white, with black shorts, is what Dalian were wearing during their dominance of Chinese football. Dalian Shide were the closest thing to a constant in Chinese football, same colours of blue, same crest and always looking to challenge for the league title. The de facto loss of Dalian Shide was a massive loss for Chinese football, the owners of Dalian Aerbin should have renamed the club when it merged with Shide, and kept the iconic light blue, and gave it a name that suggested an unbroken link with Shide. I kept the best parts of the Aerbin crest.
