The checkerboard in Croatian culture commemorates the victory of King Držislav against the Venetians in 3 chess games - at stake was his freedom. The project refers to this event with mini-boards for the game. The sleeves are decorated with a fire theme due to the nickname of the representation - Vatreni (Born in Fire).
