I dont think this is any more modern than the current BVB crest, which updated in the 90s and in the noughties, and is a pretty simple and powerful symbol of the club.

The 09 lettering is not clear, it looks more like a lower case g with an 8 over it. Id stick with the current crest

I just think that the current one, strong and simple as it is, looks a bit cheap, they might as well have a monogramme. I agree about the 09 though, it does look like an 8 with a tail, or og
