The base of the ermine forms a chevron, in referance to the first style of kit worn by SB. There are two crossed sword blades, which represent the team being nicknamed The Pirates, and a rope pattern to represent the port of Brest. 1903 was the foundation of Armoricaine de Brest, the team that would go on to become SB29.
