I liked most of the logo ides presented for the competition, but I found many look past the history and the clubs connection to the Carl Zeiss Jena company witch still can be seen in the present logo. Sometimes I find designers not take much interest or notice of the past history of the previous clubs logos and the meaning of them to the club, maybe I am to fixed to that, I do not know but new ideas are always nice never the less.

@Rabbi Hi Rabbi. I can speak for myself, I usually like to study the subject team history and I try to incorporate elements that connects with the club's identity. However I do feel free to ignore it or to propose a radical or different idea, because it's just for fun anyway. The case with Carl Zeiss Jena was the latter for me.

The current crest I'd based on the old logo of the Zeiss company. My first idea was to do something with the current logo of the company, but what I found out is that the club is not related with the company, and the new logo is kinda ugly, I didn't like it anyway. So I try to elaborate a monogram based crest, in a deco and light fashion, something that would resonate with the optical aspect of the Zeiss's products. So that was my mindset and these were the designs that resulted from the process.

@pierrelapa pierrelapa don´t take it that I was criticizing you, I we just referring to redesign in general and some of those witch appear here, and I am well aware that one is free to do what he wants in this respect, but as I said I was talking as to my experience of this and how it looked to me nothing else.
