Avai used a monogram in a shield during the early part of their history. Perhaps you could add those features to the crest here, as just the name and the stripes look pretty generic.

I do think the version you've posted here looks better than the current crest.

@Ochre Medium Sure, stripes and name can be generic, but that's how their current logo is. I just wanted to take a simpler approach and try to simplify and clear a little bit the design that Avai already have.

I love monograms, but the old Avai wasn't a good one, I would try to have a radically different logo if I wanted to get away the name and stripes. They do have a Lion as a mascot, maybe that would be another direction.
