Western Australia is the largest state in Australia and the World's second largest subdivision. Most of it's 2.6 million inhabitants live in the south western corner of the state, with over 2 million living in the Perth metro area. When it comes to sport, the most popular is Australian Football, or aussie rules. Nicknamed the sandgropers, the Western Australia Football Club is the representative team for the state. The logo are based on that used by the WAFL (aussie rules competition) during the 1980's and the jersey is based on the sandgropers jumper that was used for state of origin in the same decade.
