Is not ok that a white background is not used. Any logo in the wolrd is designed on white / with white in mind. The secondary versions of the logo are changed for other backgrounds. I know the shirt is green, but if i'd knew green is gonna be used here, i would give you a dark background version.
I think white should be used every time. You dont judge a logo by how it looks on the shirt. The aplications are far too many. Example: https://www.footyheadlines.com/2019/01/minimalist-new-goias-2019-logo.html (even the shirt is green, the main logo is also green on a white background...an is presented so..)

I'm sorry Terion, but it's been known for a long time that the voting fund in CRCW is the color of the team kit, the same one is known on Sunday when I publish the design of the week; so they are warned about the background color. regards
@terion Terion I am kind of not going to get involved with this debate but I had this same concern as you have some time ago but it was explained to me that the logo should be placed on a background like it is to be used in reality or on a kit, it maid sense to me and I excepted that argument an I think you should give it some thought, I sometimes place the logo on a white background as well and load it up as a Crest design just so it can be seen without any background colour interfering with the design. But good luck with your designs and hope thing work out for you.
