Team - Paysandu Sport Club Belem, Para state, Brasil Kit Maker - Lotto Kit Sponsor - BANPARA (Front and back of shirt) União and Médicos (Back of shorts) Named after a battle in the war of the triple alliance in 1914 in Belem, Paysandu first gained promotion to the top level of Brazilian football in 1991, but it was the Copa Libertadores campain in 2003 that was their finest hour, reaching the second round and beating Boca Juniors in La Bombanera. The team are nicknamed Papão da Curuzu, after a mythical monster. The nickname is on the socks and on the inside of the collar. The crest was designed by Henrique Portes, a Paulista who has designed some pretty special shirts, and who has a great blog (hekula.blogspot.com/.../paysandu-especial.html) He designed a few Paysandu shirts, but used the old logo and not his remake of it. I decided to use it on this shirt, and hopefully do it justice. This is the second choice shirt. Comments would be appreciated
