Just a competition for fun this one, sorry, no more seats on the plane to Italy!

We're helping to start up NORTH EAST FUTSAL to run and develop futsal in the North East. There will be Boro, Teesside, York and in the future, Newcastle, Sunderland etc all involved. We want a nice crest to represent the region, which will cover the three COUNTY FAs in the area - Nothumberland, Durham and North Riding.

The winner will have their crest used and immortalised in futsal folklore and on competitions such as the North East Futsal Cup. It will also go on strips for North East representative teams - why not throw in a kit design for the team too? With our links with Errea, we may use it!

Rules - none - deadline 31st August.

Guidelines - We're big on meaning and heritage so look at traditional coats of arms for the North East. Perhaps use elements of clubs such as Middlesbrough, York, Teesside. It should include the words North East Futsal, or at least reference them (NEF maybe).

Winner will be chosen by Boro Futsal (representing North East Futsal).

UPDATE 22/8/13: We are now able to offer a shirt to the entrant who provides the winning crest - complete with that design.  This will be available and dispatched at the point the kit is manufactured.

IF we decide to go with a bespoke kit - as Middlesbrough Futsal Club have done - then, if the kit is based on a winning entry from this competition, we will provide that winner with a shirt too.

UPDATE 2/10/13: The best design goes to long standing futsal designer Matupeco for this unique crest. We love it! And it's about to be part of the North East Futsal revolution.
