Based in the city of Medellín, Atlético Nacional are one of Colombia's most successful teams, with 11 domestic titles to their name, and were the first Colombian team to win the Copa Libertadores in 1989.
The team play in the colours of the flag of the Department of Antioquia, Green and white, and for most of that time the shirts have been vertically striped. The team are nicknamed "Los Verdolagas" (the Purslanes), and "El Rey de Copas" (the king of cups).
For the 2013 season, the team have been given an old shirt style that has been worn by Barcelona in 2011. Any team that has won 11 Domestic titles, the Copa Libertadores and is one of its countries most followed sides deserves something better than a warmed up and unloved former Barça style, which is the subject of the competition.
As for the rules -
1 - Red and blue are the colours of Deportivo Independiente Medellin, so they are not allowed on the main kit sponsor, the shirt body, the shorts or the socks. 3 - Maker must be nike.
4 - all kits must have the Atlético Nacional crest on them.
The team has played in green and white vertical stripes for most of their history, with shorts either green or white (as worn in 1989). Away kits have been usually white, but many shades of green have been used, plus black has been used. A brief history of the kits worn by AN can be found here
The competition will start on 7th of Feb, and end on the 25th of Feb. There will be two winners - a best home kit and a best change kit. The four best home kits will be selected on the 25th, and the best of the four will be selected on the 30th.
