This was inspired by the badge used from 1977 to 1992, with the quarters, the Staffordshire knot and the klin in the upper right quarter and the two in the lower left one. I used black for the third colour instead of the royal blue because black was traditionally the third colour for Stoke and the Icelandic former owners that introduced the blue are long gone.
6 stripes on the badge for the 6 towns that formed the city of Stoke-on-Trent. I chose the 3 alt colourways for the colours the team wore when they reformed as Stoke in 1908, a popular colour scheme for the change and their colours they wore between 1879 and 1883.
