Moom's Switzerland kit is a nice take on the what the Swiss currently wear. The presentation is always the strength of your entries I have to say. The collar, fit and tone or red bring a touch of class to the kit that is much needed. I appreciate the use of white shorts to stay in line with the class of the kit and not turning into the all red combo used recently. That said, I am little disappointed with the direction taken with this kit. The template to me is way to similar to Nike's polo template. The trimming on the collar and cuffs are basically the same to those on the Nike kits. The only difference here is the Puma logo and the stitching structure of the upper part of the shirt. The Swiss cross pattern is great "Moom-esque" touch to the kit but it is not enough to bypass what I have already described. Also, I find myself debating whether or not it was a good choice to use the crest recently created by designfootball user (not sure of the name). It clashes in this case with the number 5 you used. Maybe the classic crest would have been more appropriate. I cannot deny the class of your designs but this one, to me, is not one of the best you have entered, Moom. It is still a safe and nice bet for this round. Good job, my friend. Buttplug's Algeria kit is also good take compared to what Algeria's uses today. The style of the design is very much in line with Puma's design history. The vertical stripe with the crescent moon and star is growing on me every time I see it, so good job on that my friend. When I see the kit as a whole, though, I see disjointedness. The short design is off, I simply do not understand it.The green cuff is the same one used now just with a line on it. The red accents on the shoulders look like they are from a different kit and the font of the numbers looks dated. The focal point of the kit makes it go a long way in this case but something about it makes it fall short to the round at play. I appreciate the kit in it of itself, though. It makes this choice a tough one just as the rest of them.
I vote for Moom. The dated accents of Buttplug's design in combination with Moom's constant delivery swing the vote towards Moom. You guys cannot make this any tougher. Great job again dudes.
Tough one. On the one hand, Buttplug's kit looks different (in a good way) and very well-made. However, I think that the Star and Crescent makes it a bit messy. On the other hand, we have Moom's kit, which features an astonishing Swiss pattern, but that is indeed a simple polo.
All in all, I think that Moom wins this round in close contest.
There is not so much to say about Buttplug´s design it is a decent kit but I do not like his template, wit a better template this would have been so much better. Moom is using a color that is a bit to pinkish for my liking in a kit for Swiss, I do not like that, another thing is he is using a logo on his kit that is not a present Swiss logo and in a competition like this one should stick to the present logos of the country. You using Mbingcrosby´s logo is not right and I feel you are trying to gain favor by using someones else work here, this logo is a good logo and I have nothing agents that fact, but it should not be used it competition like this one. I am going to look past that here though and hope you do not do that aging because next time I will not.
Neck a neck going into the last day, good luck Moom, a bit closer than our last match up! Thanks for you feedback all, rabbi I understand what you mean regarding my template but have struggled to produce anything better that is workable with the software that I use, I think it's unfortunate for both Corinth and I that you can't see past it as I think in both cases the 'inferior' templates still manage to show the designs well, having said that you have to use something as a basis of separating two designs!
Buttplug I understand your frustration regarding me not seeing past the template, that is how I felt when I was doing a kit design in the beginning, but I was told by those that where more experienced than I was in kit design that it was the pare of the design process and hard to look past it, to day I tend to agree with them, it is therefore that I have spent loot of time trying to improve my template witch I have maid my self, I think I have learned a grate deal by doing that and I am sure so will you if you give it a chance.
@Rabbi Hey! Always appreciate your feedback! Dont get the wrong idea about the crest, i'm not trying to get an advantage with it! (-: I just liked it and thought it'd be neat, I did the same thing last comp with the Yokohama shirt and I just enjoy showing peoples work in action :D
Rabbi, I do appreciate your feedback. What exactly do you think I can do to improve it, baring in mind I use a basic ipad software that only allows three layers max and doesn't have many more features than Microsoft paint.
Buttplug I do not know the program you are using I use CorelDraw for all my designs but I also have Adobe Illustrator for us as well, but I find best to use Corel for my designs. I know Corel is expensive but I invested in one last year but used a pirate version to start with. I thin you could to start with have a dark outline on your design template, you could also have more shadows in your design but be careful not to over do it. and if you can it is always good to show the seems on the kit. These are just a hint that you could look in to now if your program allows it, I think that would make your design look so much better. :-)
@Rabbi Thanks, the program I use is called sketchbook. I have tried the black border before but for some reason I could not block fill colour up to the black line I also think that it works better without. Regarding the shadows do you mean on the shirt or around it?
I've chosen Moom because although it is a simple kit, it works really well. It has enough design elements in it to be unique and is very classy. Buttplug's design for me is very unbalanced.
Buttplug. I us to have no out line on my kit but was told it did not look as good as having a outline, that may be just a individual teased but I find it marking the design better, kind of framing in in if you get what I mean. Regarding the shadows I meant on the shirt and shorts, it always looks good having it there but one has to study how it is best to do it so to not over do it and make it bad. I am sure you get there you are well on your way my friend and as I found it takes jut practices and practices and study how other good designers do and try to learn from that, I have studied Zorans design and Cláudio Cruz designs but there are many others that are weary good in this. I am just a average kit designer, i do mostly crests and logos.
