Yep. Youve got rid of the detail from the crest of the city of Bilbao, and a huge part of the identity.
Athletic Club Bilbao (their proper title, and the spelling youve used as the title was the one decreed by Franco) already have a simplified crest they can use, the AC monogram or the Lion logo.

No body likes a know it all and everyone has Google. If I were you I'd re-evaluate the way in which you comment negatively. There's a way to comment and criticise and a way to be polite, but I'm sure you'll find that way... you're a smart guy!
@joegillibrand My point about the team name still stands. Calling a Basque or a Catalan team by its Franco era name is not the best idea, and has pretty unfortunate implications.
