Cusco Fútbol Club, who play in Peru’s Liga 1, have spectacular iconography thanks to their proximity to Machu Picchu - Cuzco’s an UNESCO World Heritage Site dontcha know - so the 352nd stage of the Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge, dedicated to “Los Cusqueños”, was bound to be a fun one.
Surprisingly, it lacked a little in terms of quantity, but there was never a chance of it struggling in the quality stakes. Kevski77 combined black and gold with an Andes-silhouette-inspired look and a little colour, rozzimos ran with the colour to nod to Vinicunca - or “Montaña Arcoíris” (“Rainbow Mountain”) - and, really, we could highlight every design entered, as they were all superb in their own ways.
For the sake of a little brevity, we’ll instead focus on the podium. A bronze medal for Oakleighman for doing wonderful things with a current Nike template, a silver for OTHYcreative for ensuring the crest is the focal point - right and proper - and coming out on top, winning a gold medal by way of an expert take on the black-with-gold trend that just won’t go away, was HiK4L.
Good things come in small packages, and while the voting didn’t provide too many options, the calibre of those options was top tier.
