We have a spectacular current Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge stage underway currently but there have been plenty of other impressive collections in 2022 so far.
One such example is the Corinthians edition, which bridged ’21 turning to ’22 and gave us an array of wonderful entries - with a variety of styles rarely exceeded before or since.
That included a reference to iconic Corinthians fan Ayrton Senna, via ONI’s nod to his famous Marlboro-sponsored McLaren car. This is actually a trick we’ve seen before from Kitbliss, professional designer at Nike Angelo Trofa - in his DF, “Amadeus Angelillo” guise - and, it has since transpired, from within football itself.
In addition, there was a design from Feliplayz which applied to the Brazilan side a 2022-23 Nike template, and one from KA14_Design which paid tribute to São Paulo street art - both superb in their own way.
But it was the retro, minimalist look which won out. NSGraphics’ entry was certainly a thing of true beauty - that embossed modern crest alongside the historical monogram! - and they were unlucky to be pipped by the similarly coloured, gorgeous effort from TRIDENTE.
