The 292nd stage of the Crest Redesign Competition Weekly (CRCW) didn’t provoke the amount of designs that many do, but often these things are about quality rather than quantity.
And there was plenty of quality, including a superb FK Liepāja streamlining by recurrent winner Rabbi.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. There is, however, a requirement to polish, and Rabbi polished the existing Latvian Virslīga side’s club badge beautifully.
Despite the modest number of participants, it was still no shoo-in for Rabbi. Scarpacci’s rearrangement of the elements and Bogmar’s gorgeous, two-tone simplification were both in the running come the voting.
But, in the end, it was about tweaks not transformations. And maybe making those lion heads a little meaner…
