They've had a few half pattern kits before. I tried this pattern as quarters but decided it didn't look good.

you are right, they have used halves in the past. I can see how your pattern works better with halves and so can see why you went with it. I set this weeks challenge as quarters because it is one style I struggle with to get a design that pleases me. So I was curious to see how others respond.

I'm sure you could get this to work in quarters if you hide the intersecting point behind the sponsor. It's got promise.
