Hi, everyone! I've been thinking lately about creating a huge competition in this community, so I decided to create a - let's say - spiritual successor to the old Design Football League. However, I decided to abandon the traditional system of designing kits on a weekly basis. Instead, this competition will feature a list of kits to be designed on an extended period. This way, I expect less absences, which were quite common, since people didn't have the time or disposition to design a kit in a certain week. More on that can be found in the following link, which also presents the set of rules to be used in the competition: https://scribd.com/document/336432271/Rules. I know it seems like a ton of rules at first, but most of them have to do with the structure and organization of the league. Happy designing to all!
BTW, we're not starting till the end of the AFCON competition, to avoid having too many competitions running parallel to each other. Also, I don't have a definite number of participants in mind yet, but so far I think 16 to 20 participants would be nice.
question: so, a set of kits will be given (which will correspond to our entire participation )..will we know in wich order we need to design the kits ? ...i mean, i, for example, like to design on weekly basis..

Yes, In the list sent to the participant, there will be information on the kit, round and opponent (e.g.: round 1 - team A home kit - opponent x; round 2 - team B away kit - opponent y; and so on...)
so..if i understand well...we design the entire kit list till some deadline...after that we only "witness'' the competition [and vote] ? i dont know if that will work..not having any control during the competition..sometimes i adapt my design according to my opponent or simply improve myself as the competition goes.. i want to take part anyway.. ;)

Yes. I know it's not as exciting as a weekly based competition, but It is the only way I see a long league like this working without people withdrawing in the middle of it. :/
@raffe But it is possible to design one kit per week, we get all the kits we have to design but that is for cases in which you know that in certain week you canĀ“t design so you know the team and you can design it before so we avoid withdraw
Thanks for the feedback, everyone! Following some suggestions on the schedule of the league, I came up with 4 different ideas, and I'd really appreciate some opinions on that matter.
1) the current system, which gives a long period of time so the participants are able to design all their kits before the competition starts;
2) the traditional format, weekly based;
3) a hybrid system, in which there would be a period of time for preparation (let's say, one month), so people could design kits for weeks they know they won't be able to participate. After that, the competition runs normally, on a weekly basis.
4) another hybrid system, and my favourite thus far: every three or so rounds, we have a short break (about 2 weeks), so people can design kits for weeks they won't be able to participate.
We now have 20 participants and are ready to start the competition! Later I'll give some info (such as the calendar) and I'll send each of you a message with the fixtures.
