With direct ancestral ties to Ghana and my first pilgrimage to my homeland in 2004, it is with deep humility and respect for this country and its national sport that I present these designs for consideration to represent the Ghana Football Association at the WC 2014.
The "essential" design/style elements of this "home" kit commanding attention are as follows:
1. Using white and (Ghanaian flag) yellow establishes the base-colors of the kit as they serve to be the optimum contrast to the green of the pitch.
2. The contemporary-retro simplicity of the color block striping is purposed to enhance the visibility of the players on the pitch one to the other, the spectators and the sport commentators/broadcasters as well.
3. A "refacing" of the Ghana Football Association emblem for this event, is proposed to introduce a forward-thinking approach in marketing its presence throughout the international football world.
4. The inclusion of the numeral "57" as one of the alternate versions of this mark, serves to define the backstory talking-point of Ghana's emergence as a premiere football force and all that it represented being established in 1957.
The ultimate goal of this complete (home and away) kit(s) is to provide the PUMA brand with cornerstone design from which to launch an entire licensed product suite of apparel and media blasts to be leveraged to the primary benefit the GFA and all who follow and support it.
Funny how this fairly plain kit gets all these comments with hardly any views from people who've never commented before, wonder if they're all from the same IP address?!
Yeah, it is pretty funny, Ive got a feeling that they are all from the same IP address, though one of the only people who would know would be the admin for the site, and I have no idea where he is.
On the description, congrats for the lengthy tome, though "plain shirt with my design for new Ghana FA logo" would have been more accurate.
Also funny how so much time and deliberation has gone into the planning and explanation of these kits but not enough to realise that the outfield shirts are carrying the number 1 not the goalkeeper's!
I was invited to check out the site from a friend. Nice competition, and think that this uniform set is well done. As a marketing professional, I like how the designer describes the thought process in detail and presents a strong package. We'll done.
Rabbi, you should still take part, don't be put off by one or two people thinking its a popularity contest when it's not, they're the ones wasting their time. DanR23 (if you exist) what marketing company do you work for? Just so I can make a note to avoid using them in future! There is such a word a substance, may be worth learning it!
If this is an SEO tactic it is absolutely bizarre. Fine, glowing recommendations from friends and family of the company are sure to look good, but when you scroll up and see the mediocrity of the football kit, those recommendations won't hold as much weight. Granted, football kits might not be their specialty, but even the presentation's a little ropy.
I personally have no interest in going after this Prolific Sport Design person and it would be just fine for him to put up designa here just as I have and others , I do not think anyone has much against that , it is just all the comments that followed that are a bit stupid in my opinion.
Having said that I would also welcome to see some more of the work that he claims to have been seen in most leagues ín US and for that mater abroad, In germany. I for one would welcome such successful designer here on DF like we have done with others that stand for what they claim. Tolerance and modesty is a virtue that we should keep in mind, always.
It's a soccer kit contest! Give a person a little decision making power to judge a contest and they blackout! It's a great looking kit, now just judge the kit and not the person making the kit. Asshole!
Jabari, not sure what you're getting at. Nobody has had a go at the designer personally, you seem overly sensitive. The negative comments have been caused by the fact that so many positive comments were made by new users giving no constructive reasoning behind them. Why don't you give some?
Oh lord............ Jabari, I will judge the kit, and not the person making the kit, though to be honest, the result would be the same - After all, its boring and it looks dated.
