This is an interesting one. When I wrote the original article I did have Paris '06 in mind and you've seized upon a lot of the potential - such as switching Barça's shorts 'back' to blue.
I think with the darkness of the redcurrant shirt, it may still be "sub-optimal" (Richard Ayoade used it on Gadget Man last night - brilliant) to have Arsenal wearing that - Arsenal changed against Chelsea in the 2005 Community Shield then both sides wore Homes in the league, which wasn't great, and I think with Barça having just that hint of "grana", as you say, would make it even worse.
I know it may go against the rules but how about Arsenal wearing their more traditionally recognisable colours - with plenty of white and keeping the Barça changes you've made? Perhaps as a one-off kit or maybe wearing the following season's Home with the contemporaneous sponsor, as Celtic did in Seville in 2003.
