There has been a rumour going around - which we cannot confirm the legitimacy of - that Glasgow, Scotland's Celtic FC have entered into an agreement with American football/sportswear manufacturer - and Warrior's parent company - New Balance, for the US company to supply kit as of the 2015-16 season onwards.

As we say, we don't know if this will come to pass, but Celtic are a great club to have some fun with in a just-for-fun comp, so let's see what kits people can come up with - we're sure they'll be superb.

Competition rules:

1) You can enter as many times as you like, with as many shirts/kits as you like.

2) New Balance (NB) as manufacturer, Magners Irish Cider and/or (if you want to be particularly clever) Tipperary Natural Mineral Water as sponsor.

3) Shirts or full kits to suit - though the latter may be worth your time.

4) Home, Away, Third, Goalkeeper or whatever shirts/kits you think will present the concept in the best way.

As is standard with DF competitions, selected entries will be featured on the DF Facebook page and tweeted and designs already uploaded to Football Shirt Culture's Fantasy Kit Designs or the DF galleries are both eligible and welcome, so please don't hesitate to include them.

The competition will close at 23:59 on Friday 19th December 2014 and the winner(s) - chosen by me - will be announced shortly afterwards.

Update - 1/2/15: After a long delay, here are the winners...

Home kit - Even taking into consideration NB - Warrior's parent company - theoretically being involved, very few of the kits really fitted into the traditional, and therefore acceptable, notion of what a Celtic kit should look like.  Not his best work but Fenton's amended design was probably the most likely to be embraced by the Celtic fans - the one kit that looked conceivable to be worn by players and supporters alike.

Away kit - Another Fenton design, this time far more exciting - it's even done the rounds on Celtic forums to much praise - and something the Bumblebee-crazy element amongst the support would be sure to lap up.  A great modernisation of a modern and (in)famous classic.

Third kit - A little more classic, with a tonal green tartan watermark and light green neat collar and cuffs to contrast with the body of the shirt, Gaabowski provides an ideal Third, regardless of his calling it an Away.

GK kits - There was nothing that really captured the imagination amongst the nominally goalkeeper kits, but this stylising of the Hoops had to be included somewhere (but not as an actual Home), so Craig Gordon carrying it works as a compromise.  And three GK options is always a good thing.

Well done all those who entered.  It's a tricky one, with Celtic fans so unforgiving when it comes to there precious shirts, so the attempts were very good.
