- Just one of England’s three classic 1990 world cup shirts. In fact England never played in this third shirt through the tournament and instead its regard can almost entirely be pinpointed to its appearance on New Order’s World in Motion video as worn by front man Bernard Sumner. But as a standalone design it rises above the white home and red away shirt because of its conceptual diamond underlay, which is so opaque it’s basically the overlay. Brilliant 20th century graphic design, which looks even better on Umbro’s Crepe City’s remake.
