Redesign for Les Sang et Or, the miners lamp is at the centre. The shape of the shield was taken from the repeating motif of the main train station in Lens, an Art Deco style building (big fan of Art Deco here) which was inspired by an old steam locomotive.

The pickaxe and shovel represent the mining heritage of Lens, and beneath the lamp is the number for the Pas-de-Calais department.
