The parallel lines are actually the symbol for uk train lines.
This was used by ICF or Inter City Firm (West Ham) as the intercity lines were used to travel to games.

@BP Thank you very much for your comment! I didn't realize about the whole "UK Train Line" thing, but thanks for telling me. I Did know that it was to do with travelling, usualy to away games. I just used it because i've seen it used many times on club firm logos.

How the red octogon is becoming a "dont stop" symbol ?

@cristiantodean It sends a message out to the public, clearly stating that they have been told to stop, yet they do not. The stop sign is almost a symbol of persistence. (Oh and sorry for my careless typing error in the word octagon in the description)
