The shape of the shield was inspired by the keystone of the archway of the Porte de la Craffe, I wanted a distinct shape for the shield instead of the Arsenal-esque shape the club currently uses. The two stripes motif used by ASNL since the 1970s I incorporated at the base of the thistle.
