The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are named after the Manly and Warringah areas of Sydney's Northern Beaches in which the club is based. Joing the major league in 1947, Manly enjoyed it's first of eight premierships in 1972, their most recent was in being in 2011. Since their first Grand Final appearance in 1951, the club has appeared in 19 Grand Finals across seven consecutive decades. The club has never won the wooden spoon in its 70 seasons, the longest period of any current club.
