@Oakleighman For my sins, I follow North, so the concept was not lost on me but the Black Country, the Industrial region around the city of Birmingham, have in recent years produced a flag not dissimilar to Saints kit. Maybe one of us should turn all the AFL kits into soccer jerseys for fun!
@Skyebaggie So you're a Shinboner, brilliant! I'm a Tigers fan from Yorkshire. Your Kangas gave us a right beating last week. North have been Richmond's bogey team for quite a while. An AFL crossover series would be interesting.
@Oakleighman my first AFL game was Roos v Tigers at the MCG in '82. I had to pick a team and North played in a Baggies kit, so that was it. I didn't realise how disliked they were by other teams!
@Skyebaggie So you've been following the sport a couple of years longer than me. I've never been to Oz, let alone the MCG. I know North and Essendon have never had much time for each other. I think the Dons thought North encroached on the territory and I don't think Carlton and North have much time for each other either. I know many Melbourne based fans of other teams think North's support base is too small and that they'd be better off playing all their games down in Tassie. I don't mind North. It's Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon who I like to see lose the most. Although I was almost beginning to feel a little sorry for the Blues' recent plight. ;-)
@Oakleighman did you get to any of the exhibition games at The Oval in the 80's? I do miss AFL not being on Trans World Sport on Channel 4 on a Saturday morning.
