RC de Madrid Nike Away Kit - Former Club
Image information
- Description
- I decided to design a set of kits for the Racing Club de Madrid, a former team which played from 1914 to 1931. Racing Club de Madrid, also known as Racing de Madrid, was a sports entity founded in 1914. The club played the in the 1st season of Segunda División, in 1928/29, and ended up disappearing in the 1931/32 season. Their most important honours are the two “Campeonato Regional Centro” trophies, got in 1914/15 and 1918/19. For the home kit I decided to use the colour combination used from 1926 to 1931 (they have also worn white shorts, but I think this combination fits better Nike’s new designs). For the away I used white/black with red trims, based on the new Aeroswift kits. The 3rd/special kit it’s just based on the generic Aeroswift design introduced by Nike (http://news.nike.com/news/2016-football-vapor-kit-aeroswift). I redesigned the club’s logo, modifying a bit their last design (used from 1928) and incorporating the monogram used on their 1st logo. For the 3rd/special kit I used their 1927 design, applying the iridescent pattern from the Aeroswift design.
