Not sure what part of the 1995/96 kit you took inspiration off, as apart from the blue colour, thats the only thing it has in common with that shirt. Not really a fan of this shirt, the broken back looks strange, and Im not sure why youve left off the Devil on the back of the shirt on this and the (decent) Newton Heath remake, and only put it on the home shirt.

it is more a remake of the 1903 jersey, which the 1995/96 jersey takes insperation from, as they are both blue and white striped jersey's.
the 2012/13 juventus jersey is an example of a broken stripe on the back of the shirt. i see it as working well, although i'd agree i probably should have done something different here.
yea. and thats cause i did the home one last and forgot to add it to these two.

The 1995/96 jersey was actually a tribute to the European cup winning side of 1968, and had the coat of arms of Manchester (worn by the 1968 team) as a watermark on the shirt, plus the names of that team printed on, as well as being inspired by the 1903 jersey.

For blue shirts, a number in Gold or orange, with a dark blue or a black outline stands out well.

oh yes i noticed the watermark, i didn't know that haha :P
but yea, this is more the 1903 style with defined and consistent vertical stripe pattern. I just wanted to make three kits that were not what most people think of as classic manchester united, however they're very historical.

i dont understand how you can say this isnt inspired by the below kit other than the colour!

No watermarks , no black trim, blue on sleeves, there's not a lot in common between the 1994-96 shirt and this one. I would say the influence is almost all from 1903

Personally, I can see exactly what you mean as regarding the kit taking inspiration from both of the kits that you have mentioned. Some people here are just being pedantic. Manchester United have had very few blue/white striped shirts, so myki is in my eyes correct in saying they take inspiration from both. Incorporating the blue and white stripes into a solid, yet historical away kit.

I would love it if you could make a white/burgundy hooped away shirt, like the away kit worn from 1932-39. I think that could make a great away kit, with black shorts and socks, or white hooped socks.

The black/yellow/blue kit of 1993-95 could be a great Nike remake as well. I prefer it when brands resurrect older colours and reintroduce them with a modern twist. Nike just stick to White/Blue/Black for MUFC away's. Umbro were more adventurous :sad:

yes it does not have all those things you are correct spider, but i see that kit as being (albeit very loosely) a blue and white striped jersey. however i do realise the stripes are different widths and not consistent.

It's blue and white stripes. So was the 90s one so quite easy to see how inspiration came from that kit.
T o be honest if the designer took inspiration from one kit then made a completely different kit the inspiration still came from that kit no matter whether it looks like it or not!

Myki says he got inspiration from the 1903 kit and the 1994-96 kit, but he missed the watermarks, which were one of the defining features of the 94-96 kit, and I was making the point that it would be pretty hard to guess that he was actually inspired by that kit from looking at his kit, considering it has so little in common with it. I'd take "loosley based", as loose as a Stone Roses Jam session. :-)

haha yea its pretty loose i suppose. but i felt inspired when i saw it, to design a kit. i then looked at other manchester united away kits i felt to be "different", that one and the 1903 one stood out to me :P

nice i like this Would've added the devil on back though
