United wore red socks in 1968, and it looks smart. If you are thinking it looks too close to Liverpool, well, Liverpool wear all red and this has white shorts. If United actually lauched a kit with red socks, sure, there would be a few fans crying foul, but one look at the late sixties kit, with Best in it, should convince them.
And if youre thinking "What colour would the second choice shorts be?", well, there wouldnt be any. Just white shorts and red socks all the time for games during the day, and white socks for night games.
12 months ago, you would have probably shouted "Celtic in Black socks -NO", but they look great and have been accepted. Its the same with this.
