Japan wore an all red kit in the late 80s, and it was pretty unpopular due to the fact that Korea and China both wear red.
The Netherlands flag originally was orange/white/blue, then it changed to red/white/blue, but the orange/white/blue goes back to the 9th century, as those colours were the most common used in cloth. On special occasions, an orange band is flown above the Dutch flag. The Netherlands have played in blue plenty of times.
I think a good one to do would be slovenia, they did play in a white and dark green kit, but that was unpopular as it came from the flag of Ljubljana, so changing the colours to those of the national flag would work.
