I was working on a Northern Lights Iceland kit - looks like you've got there first! Am I OK to keep working on mine? (I don't want to infringe on your great concept). This is a lovely shirt by the way!
Well Taggo being an Icelander than I must admit that I do not like this concept, not that it is badly maid but I feel it douse not represent the country well, sorry for that mate. :-)
@Rabbi That's OK Raabi, i know the fact that the Northern Lights doesn't represent the country itself (i know it occurs on mostly closer northern pole countries).
I take the idea from a pic of a volcano with the northern lights in the sky, and i think it would be a good idea for a kit, I choose Iceland because the volcano was from there.
But not problem. in my case i don't like too much aztec designs for México :P.
Taggo in fact the northern lights are weary common here in Iceland and we have a big tourist attraction around it, so it is not because of that I feel the lights do not fit on a kit, I just can´t see them being placed in such way on a kit that it douse them any justice. Some sort of volcano or ice design would work better in my opinion, and we do have a loot of volcano activity here and have one going at the moment and it has been erupting now for over 4 months and no sign of it stooping soon, the Holuhraun lava field had spread across more than 84 square kilometers (32 square miles), making it larger than the island of Manhattan. Holuhraun is Iceland’s largest basaltic lava flow since the Laki eruption in 1783–84, an event that killed 20 percent of the island’s population.
I may ad this info as mater of interest to some of you.
The sulfur dioxide (SO2) emitted from the Holuhraun eruption has reached up to 60,000 tons per day and averaged close to 20,000 tons since it began. For comparison, all the SO2 pollution in Europe, from industries, energy production, traffic and house heating, etc., amounts to 14,000 tons per day.
“It’s clear that no eruption [in Iceland] in the 20th century comes close to this one. We have to go far back to the 19th century, to find eruption as voluminous in gas emissions,
I absolutely love that you're having a little Iceland discussion - I love the country, I visited in 2012 and can;t wait to return. I've also got a Northern Lights Iceland shirt in the works Rabbi, I'm worried you won't like it now!
RedStarLiverpool Don´t worry to much about my opinion, I suppose the northern light can be just as good element in design as any even though I do not like them as a kit design, I try to keep an open mind to these designs. :-)
Me encanta Taggo! solo una pequeña sugerencia, y es que para apreciar mejor la aurora, le "plancharía" un poco la camisa, lo que es eliminar las sombras que representan los pliegues de la tela... digo, para lucir mas el precioso diseño!
