MD, I really like your designs. You go with a concept for a concept kit. Not just a tweak or a plain shirt with a different collar. Designing for the less noble teams teaches me about small clubs and geography. These clubs often have a few interesting colour combinations too. Keep bringing us interesting designs.
For me designing a concept kit is more than using an existing template from a big sportwear brand and throwing a pattern, often taken from web(and im not talking about mddesing specifically...im talking in general). No offence to anybody, thats my opinion. It is a good start using templates, but real designing is making shirts from scratch.
@terion I believe there are many more decent teams than those on the island of cook. I don't need to use Manchester or Barcelona. there are lille, genoa, sassuolo, metz, historical teams like the coventry, boavista, trabzospor. the Japanese teams.
@terion my work is always very elaborate and studied. I like to compare myself with other designers. but I would like to do it for teams with a little more known history, to be able to do better. this week's team doesn't have a story to work on. I only knew that the primary shirt is black-yellow checkered. STOP.
@MDDesign As I said, this competition is over 2 years old. We made over 100 teams, as I'm not planning to end this competition in the near future, there will be much more teams. At some point, we will not have any more "noble" teams, and then what? No more KOTW?
Also some of us that are regular competitors love these teams, with zero knowledge, because wr can make whatever we want. Doing, let's say, barca kits is boring. There are little things you can change, especially if you use already made templates (not you, in general). You can chose the width of the stripes and thats all.
sometimes you have to dig a bit for inspiration too. Although Wiki says Nikao play in yellow and black checks, all recent images show them playing in yellow/green. Inspiration can come from the shirt mockup too. My Tampa Bay inspired shirt does not work so well on a shirt with integrated shoulder/sleeves. I came up with different designs for those shirts. But I am just an armchair designer having fun. Right, back to the day job.
