With direct ancestral ties to Ghana and my first pilgrimage to my homeland in 2004, it is with deep humility and respect for this country and its national sport that I present these designs for consideration to represent the Ghana Football Association at the WC 2014. The "essential" design/style elements of this "home" kit commanding attention are as follows: 1. Using white and (Ghanaian flag) yellow establishes the base-colors of the kit as they serve to be the optimum contrast to the green of the pitch. 2. The contemporary-retro simplicity of the color block striping is purposed to enhance the visibility of the players on the pitch one to the other, the spectators and the sport commentators/broadcasters as well. 3. A "refacing" of the Ghana Football Association emblem for this event, is proposed to introduce a forward-thinking approach in marketing its presence throughout the international football world. 4. The inclusion of the numeral "57" as one of the alternate versions of this mark, serves to define the backstory talking-point of Ghana's emergence as a premiere football force and all that it represented being established in 1957. The ultimate goal of this complete (home and away) kit(s) is to provide the PUMA brand with cornerstone design from which to launch an entire licensed product suite of apparel and media blasts to be leveraged to the primary benefit the GFA and all who follow and support it.
Funny how this fairly plain kit gets all these comments with hardly any views from people who've never commented before, wonder if they're all from the same IP address?!
Yeah, it is pretty funny, Ive got a feeling that they are all from the same IP address, though one of the only people who would know would be the admin for the site, and I have no idea where he is.
On the description, congrats for the lengthy tome, though "plain shirt with my design for new Ghana FA logo" would have been more accurate.
Also funny how so much time and deliberation has gone into the planning and explanation of these kits but not enough to realise that the outfield shirts are carrying the number 1 not the goalkeeper's!
I was invited to check out the site from a friend. Nice competition, and think that this uniform set is well done. As a marketing professional, I like how the designer describes the thought process in detail and presents a strong package. We'll done.
Rabbi, you should still take part, don't be put off by one or two people thinking its a popularity contest when it's not, they're the ones wasting their time. DanR23 (if you exist) what marketing company do you work for? Just so I can make a note to avoid using them in future! There is such a word a substance, may be worth learning it!
If this is an SEO tactic it is absolutely bizarre. Fine, glowing recommendations from friends and family of the company are sure to look good, but when you scroll up and see the mediocrity of the football kit, those recommendations won't hold as much weight. Granted, football kits might not be their specialty, but even the presentation's a little ropy.
I personally have no interest in going after this Prolific Sport Design person and it would be just fine for him to put up designa here just as I have and others , I do not think anyone has much against that , it is just all the comments that followed that are a bit stupid in my opinion.
Having said that I would also welcome to see some more of the work that he claims to have been seen in most leagues ín US and for that mater abroad, In germany. I for one would welcome such successful designer here on DF like we have done with others that stand for what they claim. Tolerance and modesty is a virtue that we should keep in mind, always.
It's a soccer kit contest! Give a person a little decision making power to judge a contest and they blackout! It's a great looking kit, now just judge the kit and not the person making the kit. Asshole!
Jabari, not sure what you're getting at. Nobody has had a go at the designer personally, you seem overly sensitive. The negative comments have been caused by the fact that so many positive comments were made by new users giving no constructive reasoning behind them. Why don't you give some?
Oh lord............ Jabari, I will judge the kit, and not the person making the kit, though to be honest, the result would be the same - After all, its boring and it looks dated.
Jabri. I want to repeat that neither I or anyone else here is going after the designer ( Prolific Sport Design) . We have had things like this happening before here on DF and FSC when a new designer puts his design in and suddenly a hole lot of new members come in and praise his work, it is pretty obvious to all of us what is going on, and those of you that do this should keep in mind that it is not doing the designer or the competitions any favors by behaving in that manner.
I think I can say for all of us here that Prolific Sport Design is welcome to put in his designs here and participate in competitions in the future just like the rest of us if he so wishes, but have in mind that this is not a popularity contest and your praise on the design have no bearing on the outcome of the competitions.
What?! You guys sound really lame...How about you make the competition exclusive to members only if it's such a bother that new people show support by commenting. Idea... Spider, why don't you help Rabbi with his Buttplug so Collet can finsih this rim job?! Nice kit Prolific!
Is that your idea of showing support for your friend? Slagging off the other competitors, nice one! You still don't seem capable of saying what you like about the kit, other than you'd prefer it with a v neck, which is more negative than positive.
Jabari. I do not know if it is worth it to reply to your comments here, I do only take apart in these competitions for my one pleasure of it and for the fun of it, and I could not care less if I get a reply to my designs or not, or for that mater if I win or lose, I have taken apart in so many of them here on DF in the past that it doesn't meter to me any longer, I am not writing this on behalf of anyone else but myself, but you are welcome believe what you want. I think I said here earlier that your friend was welcome to put up his designs here without me having anything against it. You have not seen me say a thing about Prolifics design here, neither bad nor good and I am going to stick to that. I also said here earlier that I would welcome to see more of Prolifics designs, as he says in his profile here on DF has been seen in leagues all around US, that can hardly be considered as a insult or is it? The more he shows us of his designs the better and I am sure they can stand on their own without a hole lot of praise or comments on your behalf. Having said this then I am not going to take any further part in this conversations.
Okay, two things - 1 - I would like to see some examples of Prolifics design, and for him to live up to his name.
2 - there are so many people who have entered the other competition on here (WC 2014 kits) and not this one, which I find really disappointing, considering Ghana will be one of the teams to watch, and are one of the top teams in Africa. So it would be great if they could enter.
I do enjoy the simplicity of the kit. The bold solid lines, clean lines, and colors makes it easy on the eyes in my opinion. The contrast of the busier stars is focused to one area which makes for just the right amount of effect, if simplicity is not your think. Also the substance and colors of which the stars represents according to Prolific description has real depth and provides me with an blueprint of his creative process from which I can begin or end. Thanks for sharing Prolific! My apologies to all for the jr high school comments.
Jabari, I respect your opinion, but I think it's more typical of jr high school people to give an exaggeratedly good opinion to a normal design and criticize the point of view of other people.
What's Pathetic is that all the positive remarks about this kit have negative scores. While the negative remarks have positive scores. That says it all... I'm normally not a negative person, it's just disturbing how you people on here operate!!! Yeah, you people!!! sad sad sad! Now negative mark that shit up!!!
The apologies lasted long didn't they? Anyway I am Glad that you finally gave some constructive comments, as you seem to know what you are talking about I am quite intrigued as to why you haven't given any to any of the other kits on this site! If you don't like all the negative scoes why not get all of your other mates to give them a thumbs up? The whole point of you commenting on here was to help out a mate, think you've done the exact opposite!
All in all man, I think I'm just disappointed... My good friend has skillz and has designed a couple great kits. I personally would purchase any of them because I like them. It sucks that on this site it's frowned upon by supporting someone you admire and the work they do without such a negative backlash. I'm not the best at insults and taking cheap jabs at people. Unfortunately that's what I've done, I've joined the circus! Oh well so be it, in the end the kits speaks for itself and some things just won't change. peaceandmuchlove!
I would change the red "edge design" to black - like the way the yellow jersey is presented. Whilst the black edge color matches with the star in the middle, the red makes the jersey appear to have too many colors - what graphic designers call "too busy."
