With direct ancestral ties to Ghana and my first pilgrimage to my homeland in 2004, it is with deep humility and respect for this country and its national sport that I present these designs for consideration to represent the Ghana Football Association at the WC 2014. The "essential" design/style elements of this "away" kit commanding attention are as follows: 1. Using a rich matte charcoal black and (Ghanaian flag) red establishes the base-colors of the kit as they serve to be the optimum contrast to the green of the pitch. 2. The contemporary-retro simplicity of the (Ghanian flag) yellow striping against these bold block power colors, conveys a sleek swift appearance. The enhanced visibility of the players on the pitch one to the other, the spectators and the sport commentators/broadcasters is also served well. 3. A "refacing" of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) initial emblem for this event, is proposed to introduce a forward-thinking approach in marketing its presence throughout the international football world. 4. The inclusion of the sublimated numeral "57" on the footballer's jerseys serve to define the backstory talking point of Ghana's emergence as a premiere football force and all that it represented being established in 1957. The ultimate goal of this complete (home and away) kit(s) is to provide the PUMA brand with cornerstone design from which to launch an entire licensed product suite of apparel and media blasts to be leveraged to the primary benefit the GFA and all who follow and support it.
What would be really good if people could give constructive comments as to why they like the kit so much. If you are stuck for what to say here are some ideas: ...because my mate did it. ...because I designed it. Etc. etc!
From now on, can we only have REGISTERED users able to make comments like on Footballshirtculture please?
On the black away shirt, there is a very good reason why so many African teams have a white shirt as the first choice and no teams have a dark/black kit.
On the competition, there is still a lot of time, and there are so many talented people who have not entered yet, which is disappointing, considering Ghana are one of the standard bearers of African football. Everyone, get those entries in!
It's a soccer kit contest! Give a person a little decision making power to judge a contest and they blackout! It's a great looking kit, now just judge the kit and not the person making the kit. Asshole!
Calm down dear! Nobody has criticised or judged the designer merely the idiots who think that they have a vote and not given any justification for their comments. Yes this includes you! May i also suggest that you learn the meaning if the word blackout.
I do enjoy the simplicity of the kit. The bold solid lines, clean lines, and colors makes it easy on the eyes in my opinion. The contrast of the busier stars is focused to one area which makes for just the right amount of effect, if simplicity is not your think. Also the substance and colors of which the stars represents according to Prolific description has real depth and provides me with an blueprint of his creative process from which I can begin or end. Thanks for sharing Prolific! My apologies to all for the jr high school comments.
