I thought the whole point of more or less points dependent on the size of a win was to get rid of the need for goal difference, but I now see this has been added. Seems unfair on those who win but don't thrash their opponents. Does seem right IMO
@noahmartin i thought it was to make the league more competitive due to the realistic lack of draws. if you didnt have +/- gd then there would be likely to have lots of teams on equal points with no way of separation.
@BP If that was the case why do you get 2 pts for a narrow win??? Surely a win is a win??? You are being penalised for a narrow victory! I just think this is wrong! Why was the goal difference suddenly added late on ???
Not 100% but as I gather it, with so many voters anything within a two vote margin is considered a draw otherwise you'd very rarely get draws so you'd only have wins and loses. A designer who may have lost three matches each by one would would have zero points but a designer with two heavy defeats and a one vote victory would have three points, not necessarily reflective of their talents. But a one vote victory is still a victory so hence the points split. The gd will separate those on the same points? This is how I see it anyway. Will make it more competitive IMO.
@BP I'll average out the amount of votes each other matchup got and that'll be the +/-. lets say 27 is the average votes on the other 7 matches; thats -27 for the person who bailed on the match, +27 for the other. Wouldn't really be fair any other way.
