The shirt is inspired by the city crest and the away shirt of the 1988-89 season: this shirt has six horizontal bands near the collar compared to the two of that season, as are the horizontal bands of the red and silver-banded shield of the city. There is also, both in transparency on the front of the shirt and under the collar on the back, the other symbol present in the city coat of arms, that is the arm supporting the golden ball by Giovanni Baldesio (also known by the traditional name of Zanén de la Bàla), who challenged to a duel and defeated Henry IV of Franconia, son of Henry III: in doing so the city stopped paying a tribute of a 3kg gold ball to the Emperor and became a free municipality. With the arm there is the city motto "Fortitudo mea in brachio" and the name and year of foundation of the team.
