You guys need to put rules on the KOTW contests. Like for example : Jersey has to be one kind of brand, everyone should put the same sponsor and if the jersey is an away kit or home kit... Im just saying, I think it would be better.

I don't see the problem, everyone likes black kits :)

I just think its more fair for everyone to do it that, like I said its just my opinion, nothing has to be change. Just for you guys to consider it that way. :)

I agree with the rule of the votation for home, away or third kit being splitted. Then people can upload three designs (one for each kit).

Challenges are always good my friend. Its what keeps it interesting. Its a challenge for everyone and its more than fair.

This is an example:

Lets say next week you do a Milan KOTW. The rules would be:
-Home Kit
-Keep same sponsor(You can always choose a sponsor)
-Brand can be whichever. (Or you can choose)

Now if you do this, there would be better results. Its kind of dumb seeing 2 people doing a home kit while others do an away kit.

@Feliplayz So, you suggest that every week I put up 3 voting posts for home, away and third?

We already agreed for only one submission per round, so no to 3 designs.

The average participants per KOTW is 10,5, let say that that 3 people make home, 3,5 make away, 4 make third, the voting would be boring.

Not to mention that making the graphics would take me so much more time.

@cukun Just to let you know. We’re currently working on the site and testing a new competition set-up. This will allow people to vote straight on the uploaded designs, so no need to create a voting image. It will also allow designers to add more than 1 image for a competition entry and many more improvements. Basically, It will be a lot easier to run competitions.

@cukun i think the suggestion was only one kit,only that everybody will design a home or an away etc,the admin of the competition will decide each week..

Ok so the new competition set up looks good, but i am not quite sure of the brand being the same for everyone. I use a different designing programme, not photoshop. It is very hard for me to put, for example, outlines to the brand logo or the sponsor.

@Design Football Unless you can see who voted on each image, I don't think that'd be a very good idea. It'll make the competition less transparent as it will most likely lead to people voting for their own kits or creating fake accounts to do so.
I really enjoy the competition as it is right now. Everyone can do whatever they want and I think that's the whole point of this website. And Silky is doing an amazing job.

Also, just look at the votes on their comments. That's should already tell you guys what people want and don't. :)

a handful points on comments dont represent the whole users of df

as far as im concerned in fact i would never vote my own kit it would be silly

@pineftbl I agree it's good to have things transparent when it comes to voting. In the new set-up, you won’t be able to see who voted at first, but when the competition has ended a voting log can be published which shows who voted for which design. So it will be very transparent and hopefully increase the number of overall votes. People could create “fake” accounts to vote, but they can do so with the current set-up as well. It will actually be easier to see “fake” votes and accounts within the vote log, and it will also have more advanced unfair voting protection.

Silky is doing an amazing job, but as he has pointed out it can be a lot of work to manage it, create images, etc. It's because the gallery is not really made to run competitions. The new extension is all designed for running image voting competitions and I believe it will be a leap forward. That said; if it does not work we can always go back to how it is now.

Members can run competitions how they want, with their own rules. We don't want to control this, we just want to make it easier and more advanced.

Input on what you guys want to see on the site or have changed would be much appreciated though!
