The new stage focuses on designing a dedicated 125th-anniversary shirt or kit for Cardiff City Football Club (FC), the side representing Wales' capital city in England's EFL Championship.

Celebrating a 125th anniversary presents a fantastic opportunity to create a special edition shirt. In 2024, the Bluebirds celebrate their quasquicentennial, and while this season’s Cardiff City shirts feature some '125 years' design elements, we believe this milestone deserves something a bit more unique.

Founded as Riverside AFC in 1899, Cardiff City initially sported a chocolate-brown-and-amber checkered shirt. In 1908, after the club became Cardiff City, they adopted a blue shirt with white or blue shorts and black socks, which were worn for the first nine years. Over time, Cardiff City’s kits have evolved, featuring all-blue kits, a yellow vertical stripe in the 1970s and alternating blue stripes.
